AAR by Phil.

Day two at the N Ireland model competition at the Clayton hotel Belfast.

The time is 1879 the Zulu war is all but over.

A small British column search for the Zulu King.

The kings body guard will stand in the way. “Zulus sir 1000 of them" well more like 600 but who is counting.

The British deploy.

The gun is set up.

The gunners soon get the range.

The Natal Native Horse deploy on the right flank. But the Zulu left horn soon closes in.

The Natal mounted police are overwhelmed in the centre.

Steady fire from the British Infantry slow the Zulu advance.

But for how long ?

Just before the Zulus change home against the NNH.

The Natal Native Infantry move to support the British left flank.

To late the British Infantry go down bravely against the on rush of the Zulu.

The miniatures are 25mm from Phil’s collection, Rules Front Rank Fire a fantastic set free to download online with some house rules on artillery.
